Learning Beyond the Classroom
The LL.M. in Food Law combines academic excellence with a dynamic calendar of high-level events, institutional dialogues and field experiences that connect students directly with the global food governance ecosystem.
Over the years, the program has hosted and promoted landmark initiatives, including:
- The Luiss Summer School on International Trade and Food Law, an intensive training course bringing together international scholars, WTO experts and practitioners;
- Corporate governance sessions with General Counsels and senior legal officers from leading companies in the agrifood sector;
- The Master in Food Law – Alumni Talks Series, featuring former students now working in international organizations, institutions, law firms and corporations;
- High-level roundtables on pressing global issues such as food security, trade disruptions, sustainability transitions, and geopolitical crises impacting global supply chains;
- Institutional dialogues on topics including EU Green Deal policies, geographical indications, biotechnology regulation, and international trade disputes;
- Site visits to research centers and innovation hubs, providing first-hand exposure to technological development and varietal research in agriculture;
- Collaborative initiatives with international partners such as FAO, ICC Italy and the World Farmers’ Organization (WFO).
These initiatives foster direct engagement with policymakers, regulators, corporate leaders and international experts, allowing students to bridge theory and practice in real time.
By positioning participants within a network of institutions, companies and global stakeholders, the Master ensures that learning extends far beyond the classroom — shaping professionals capable of operating in complex, international and evolving regulatory environments.
