Luiss School of Law (LSL) represents an innovation in the field of legal studies in Italy. LSL was conceived within the framework of the international strategic objectives being pursued by Luiss Guido Carli. It is targeted to whoever intends to acquire or further develop outstanding legal training or to deepen the scientific research in the various branches of Law with an international focus.
The initiatives and the sphere of interests of the LSL cover all fields of legal studies. For example: Public, Constitutional and Administrative Law; Private Law; Commercial and Business Law; Criminal Law; Labor and Welfare Law; Procedural Law, Tax Law, Comparative Law; Comparative Law; International Law; European Union Law.
The teaching activities proposed by LSL aim both at students wishing to continue their studies at an advanced level and at those who are currently working and wish to specialize. Therefore, the background and the level of participants of LSL training courses are quite heterogeneous, including, alongside recent graduates, professionals with significant professional experience.
LSL stands out for its professional orientation. Courses are rigorous in academic terms, while keeping a close focus on everyday reality and practical experience. The essential goal is to enrich participants’ know-how so that they can work at the highest levels. This is tremendously useful in terms of consolidating the aspirations to grow professionally, allowing participants to better prepare themselves to outstanding professional work-paths.
In light of the above, LSL envisages and offers the chance of professional placements and work experience in law firms and legal counsel offices, private and public bodies, both in Italy and abroad.
Therefore, the LSL pays attention both at the public and private sector, in particular in Europe, as well as at EU and international institutions. Just by way of example, participants of LSL’s academic activities are already or aim to become: judges, lawyers or legal counselors, officials at national regulatory authorities (such as CONSOB, Anti-trust Authority, Bank of Italy), or in the public administration, the EU institutions and the international organizations, consultants and managers within industry and their associations or NGOs.
