Strategic Partnership: Luiss School of Law & McGill IASL

This course is organized through a strategic partnership between two of the world's leading centers for legal excellence: the School of Law at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome and the Institute of Air and Space Law (IASL) at McGill University in Montreal. This collaboration bridges the two "capitals" of aviation law—Rome, a historic center for European legal development, and Montreal, the global headquarters of ICAO and IATA.

This strategic partnership builds on the following core elements:

  • Academic Synergy: The program combines the rigorous academic tradition of Luiss with the specialized, practice-oriented curriculum of McGill’s IASL, which has been the premier institution for air law education since 1951.
  • The Air Transport Observatory: This course is a flagship initiative of the "Antonio Catricalà" Air Transport Research Observatory at the Luiss School of Law. Funded by ENAC, ADR and ENAV, the Observatory serves as a nexus for research, policy debate, and international cooperation, ensuring that the course content reflects the most current regulatory and market trends in the field.
  • Joint Faculty Expertise: Participants benefit from direct access to McGill’s world-renowned faculty, alongside prominent Luiss professors and European practitioners. This dual perspective ensures a balanced understanding of both the North American and European regulatory landscapes.
  • A Legacy of Excellence: This executive program builds upon a history of high-level international conferences jointly supported by these institutions, fostering a global network of aviation professionals and scholars.

Through this cooperation, participants gain a globally recognized perspective, merging the civil law tradition with the international standards that govern the world's skies.
