Ignacio Carreño Garcia Scholarship
Luiss School of Law is pleased to announce the Ignacio Carreño Garcia Scholarship, established through a partnership with FratiniVergano - European Lawyers, a leading European law firm specialising in European Union law, international trade law, food law, and regulatory matters.
The scholarship honours the memory of Ignacio Carreño Garcia, an outstanding lawyer and internationally recognised expert in European food law, whose professional career was characterised by academic excellence, intellectual rigour, and an unwavering commitment to mentoring young professionals.
By establishing this scholarship, Luiss School of Law and FratiniVergano - European Lawyers aim to encourage promising students to pursue advanced studies in food law and to contribute to the development of a new generation of highly qualified professionals in this field.
The Scholarship
The Ignacio Carreño Garcia Scholarship is awarded annually to support an outstanding candidate enrolling in the Master in Food Law at the Luiss School of Law.
The scholarship covers 100% of the tuition fee and is intended to recognise academic excellence, motivation, and a strong interest in food law and related legal and policy issues.

How to Apply
Only candidates who hold a degree in legal disciplines, obtained from an Italian university, or an equivalent foreign academic qualification, recognised as suitable for admission to the Master's degree in accordance with current legislation and the provisions of the Luiss School of Law, are eligible to participate in the selection process.
Applications for the scholarship may only be submitted via the online form on the Master's website. The candidate must, by 08/10/2026:
- Fill in the application form for the Master's degree using the application form at the following link: http://jsa.luiss.it/LGCScuole/?CDS=FOOD
- Sign and attach, again via the online form, the application form for the Scholarship selection process.
The application form requires the following documents to be sent as attachments:
- identity document
- degree certificate complete with the examinations taken or a self-certification thereof (in the case of a degree obtained from a foreign university, a complete transcript)
- curriculum vitae
- cover letter.
